France: Hospices de Beaune

Hospices de Beaune or Hôtel-Dieu de Beaune

Our first visit to the Hospices de Beaune or Hôtel-Dieu de Beaune was on a rainy day in 2010. On the day we visited seeing the inside of the former charity hospital founded in 1443 was a good escape from the soaking rains. The rains unfortunately caused us to miss getting good pictures at the exterior of the building, a fine example of 15th Century French architecture with a distinctive Burgundy tile roof. In August of 2018 we made it back on a sunny day. Nevertheless the light was not perfect for photos. We might just have to visit again.
