New date–January 9th.
After a successful, or at least partially successful, test run we are now ready for Becky’s Carlmont Drop Challenge.
Saturday, January the 9th for the event, weather and soil conditions permitting.
1:15 pm at our house (1622 Ralston Ave); 1:30 at the Carlmont entrance to Water Dog.
What is “Becky’s Carlmont Drop Challenge?”
We have scoped out a collection of 7 of our favorite drops at Carlmont. We’ve ridden them all. Most of the time, but not always, we’ve avoided major stackage. We will head up the hill and drop them all. Can you ride all of Becky’s Drop’s?
What does “major stackage?” look like?

What should I bring?
It would be a good idea to bring your biggest hit bike and every piece of protective gear that you own or can borrow or steal.
Are the drops really that hard?
Nope. Hey a woman in her advanced years* and a middle-aged retiree can ride them.
How hard can they be?
The truth is, for a rider with decent downhiller skills, these drops would be trivially easy. We don’t know anyone who fits that description. If you do fit the description, you might find this one boring. For us, there remains some serious pucker-factor in these drops or we wouldn’t do them.
Can gawkers come along?
Sure, why not. It is possible that some of the riders will turn into gawkers anyway.
Those who are not touring the local emergency room to get yet another x-ray or updating their Vicodin prescriptions can stop by our house for beverages and snacks. It is possible that there might be more. We’ll figure that out later, but let us know whether plan on coming so we can plan appropriately.
Let us know if you plan on attending by email or phone. And remember to ride responsibly-don’t let peer pressure or seeing Becky do something ill advised encourage you ride something you shouldn’t!
